Minneapolis Criminal Lawyer Needed by Anoka Man Busted for Child Porn, Stalking

Robert Minor plead guilty to stalking at a bench trial. He secretly taped a boy in a locker room. The incident occurred at the YMCA in Andover, MN in Anoka County in 2013. Minor was charged with eight counts of criminal sexual conduct, peeping, invasion of privacy, etc. He used his watch as a camera and recorded a 12-year-old boy undress. The boy told his father who reported it to the police. Police obtained a search warrant and found the pictures of the 12-year-old boy. The police also found other videos of alleged child pornography. The judge ruled that the pictures relating to the YMCA incident did not constitute child pornography. Minor will have to register as a sex offender and could get up to a year in jail or probation. He is not awaiting his sentencing.

What Is Stalking in Minnesota?

In Minnesota, the definition of stalking means to “engage in conduct which the actor knows or has reason to know would cause the victim under the circumstances to feel frightened, threatened, oppressed, persecuted, or intimidated, and causes this reaction on the part of the victim regardless of the relationship between the actor and victim.” The State does not have to prove the actor’s intent. Stalking can be found in many ways, such as: following or monitoring individuals, repeated telephone calls and texts, and repeated mailing or delivering of packages and letters. Etc. For a full list of stalking crimes, see Minnesota Statute 609.749, Subd. 2.
