May: 03, 2017 Motions For New Trial After A Guilty Verdict A person convicted after a trial can make a motion for a new trial under Minnesota Rules of Criminal Procedure 26.04. Once the motion is filed the court must have a hearing within 30 days of the guilty verdict.
