Driver Sentenced to 4 years for Criminal Vehicular Homicide (CVH)

Recently, Hennepin County District Court Judge Mark Wernick sentenced a driver to four years in prison for Criminal Vehicular Homicide, even though it was dark and rainy out at the time the driver accidentally struck a pedestrian. John R. Peterson, the 23 year old driver, was convicted of Criminal Vehicular Homicide for accidentally running over Kandyce Stoffel. The victim was also 23 at the time, and was walking in the road in Dinkytown, a section of Minneapolis, Minnesota near the University of Minnesota, at the time of the crash.

St. Paul man charged with alcohol related CVH

Ramsey County prosecutors filed felony charges against a St. Paul man Friday after he was allegedly involved in a fatal accident at Arlington Avenue and Hazelwood Street early Friday morning. Police claim that the 21-year-old ran a red light at 30 miles per hour over the speed limit before crashing into a parked car. The young man reportedly had three passengers in his Honda Civic when the accident occurred, according to police.

Rosemount man accused of felony DWI in his driveway

Police in Rosemount, Minnesota reportedly fielded a complaint December 2 around 3:00 in the morning. The caller complained of loud music and squealing tires during the early morning hours. An officer responded to the location and says he waited for backup to arrive. However, the officer says that as he stood in the street, a man got out of a pickup truck parked in the driveway. Police claim that the man ran toward the house, and the officer followed the man inside the home.

Police: Man under influence in injury crash into White Bear townhome

Police say that a driver had difficulty following a curve in the road in White Bear Lake last week. The man reportedly lost control of his vehicle and the car ultimately crashed into the sunroom of a townhome near the intersection of Otter Lake Road and County Road 96. Unfortunately, the sunroom was occupied at the time of the car accident. A man in the sunroom sustained injuries in the crash. Police say that the injuries were not life-threatening, but few details are known.

Cokato Man Charged With CVH and Injury After Friday Highway 12 crash

Authorities are seeking criminal vehicular homicide and injury charges against a 21-year-old Cokato, Minnesota, man after a Friday night traffic accident near Willmar. The felony DWI charges were formally filed Monday in Kandiyohi County. The man is scheduled to appear Tuesday morning on three counts of felony CVH, one count of criminal vehicular injury, and a misdemeanor charge for open bottle in a motor vehicle.
